Women's Rules 1956-57

The list of "women's rules" included in the 1956-57 student handbook was modified from a list of nine rules to seven that freshman students were required to adhere to. Freshmen women were expected to wear red dink and regulation pin, with their name clearly written, from 8am to 9pm during the week and until noon on Saturday, they were required to carry the handbook around campus and be familiar with material in it, rise when the Dean of Women or any other college official entered the room, women were required to speak to all professors and their wives, "give the right of precedence to the women of the upper classes," and were required to attend all college functions, and finally all freshman female students were subject to additional rules determined by the members of Wheel and Chain with approval of student senate.
