A Week of Events for National Coming Out Day, 1996

October 6-12, 1996

Dickinson hosted a week of events surrounding National Coming Out Day in
1996 entitled "Self, Family, World: Continuing the Struggle for
Acceptance."  The events included a debate over gay marriage, a showing
of the movie Go Fish, a discussion led by the Mechancisburg
Chapter of P-FLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), a lecture
by community organizer and political strategist Urvashi Vaid, a coffeehouse, blue jean wearing on National Coming Out Day, an information table, a viewing of the documentary On Being Gay: Conversations with Brian McNaught, an open discussion and a final dance party.  These events took place between October 6th and 12th at locations across campus.
