1910 Freshman "Coeds" Must Stop, Look and Listen

Date
1910

The 1910 freshmen were tantalized by the upper class by a poster posted by the class of 1909 for the freshmen class. The poster outlines certain rules the incoming freshman class must observe in order to not be teased by the upper classes. One of the rules speaks directly to the freshmen co-eds, who must "appear at the first chapel exercises of each month dressed in black to signify their humble position." Their hair also must be worn in "plaits tied with green bows" and with green hats as an "emblem of their verdancy." The biggest warning that the sophomores give the freshmen co-eds is to not flirt with the upper classmen.
